Driving Guidelines
The Australian Police Force is dedicated to make sure all officers are safe whilst driving on the road. We ensure this is always the case, from extensive trainings and general punishments for mistakes whilst on the road. All officers should be setting a good example to everyone whilst driving.
The guidelines below are to ensure the officers and the public are safe whilst driving.
Guidelines
1a. Officers should adhere to all posted speed limits unless authorized to exceed them during emergency situations, with lights and sirens activated.
1b. Headlights are always to be used when driving at night.
2a. Officers should only activate emergency lights and sirens in the event of a code 1/2 call response, or conducting a traffic stop.
2b. Officers are required to slow down when entering a intersection at a red light, stop sign or give way (yeild) with lights and sirens on.
2c. APF recommends you changing sirens when approaching an intersection, red light, stop sign or give way.
3a. You must be following all traffic laws when patrolling.
Training
Driving tests are hosted by the Australian Police Force for anyone requesting thier Trained Driver Certification. This certification is required for all officers over the rank of Inspector and is optional for all ranks below.
The training is spilt up into 5 parts, with an optional certification which can be obtained at the end of the test.

Speed Test
High Speed Pursuit and PIT Certification*
You must pass 4/5 to get the certification.
