Radio Codes

Emergency Response Codes

Code 1: Very Urgent Matter

  • Risk: Imminent risk of death.

  • Response: Proceed with lights AND sirens.

Code 2: Urgent Matter

  • Risk: Risk of injury to person or property.

  • Response: Proceed with lights AND sirens.

Code 3: Routine Job

  • Risk: No immediate risk.

  • Response: Proceed under normal traffic conditions.

    • Note: Lights and sirens are NOT to be used for Code 3. Not up to Officer's discretion.

Code 4: No Further Assistance Required

  • Scenario: Situation is under control.

  • Action: No additional resources or emergency response required. Notify and revert to standard operation protocols.
